Maybe the underpriced bike thread.... these fetch more then what this guy is asking.
The Yamaha YZF-R7 was a limited edition machine top dollar machine only sold to the public so Yamaha could race it in World Superbike. Just 500 were sold for road use (40 in the UK) and they were about £22,000. Also known as the OW02,
That is fairly cheap for that bike, it sold at 30k when new. Look at some adds for the same bike, anywhere from 20 to 25k and they are selling http://raresportbikesforsale.com/tag/yzf-r7/

Collectors item I'm guessing. Some people don't own bikes for their full performance, they like to collect them as a piece of history. It's like owning a MotoGP bike from 1999, you won't get the latest and greatest tech on it but wouldn't you wan to own one?
and how much are you spending on your 2006 ? you could have bought a way better bike! but you like yours... thats why

The value of some things is not attached to practical or rational reasons. Just look at what vintage Ferrari's sell for, and they make less power than a modern day Accord V6
Put it this way, with all the aftermarket parts I dumped into the bike, it still stands me less than what I could find it for with all the mods.

You have no idea what it means to own something rare do you? Its a super rare bike and maybe not the latest and greatest, nobody else will have one like every other gixxer out there. you ride a gixxer right? lol
As rare as it may be IMO it's ugly. Ok not ugly but nothing special. I don't find any older bikes good looking anyways. But that's my opinion and no one else's.
A lot of people find the 08-12 fireblades ugly but I don't care. I love them.
