How Dose It Work?

If one was looking into getting a track bike, how do you go abouts testing it out / the owner testing it infront of you?

Would you split a track day cost so he can run a few laps?
While at the track give cash in hand and take a few laps yourself?

Interested in knowing how people made their decision to buy a track bike.

I did my first td with the guy I bought the bike from. Basically looked it over, ran it through the gears on a stand and hoped for the best. If your buying locally then you'll most likely see person again at the track. I wouldn't sell my bike with any known problems. Treat others as you'd have them treat you. Btw I might have a bike for sale shortly ;)

Good point, I'd go out to a track day and meet up. Yes, of course, the brotherhood of riders. Would never want to make someone unhappy or get hurt when they take a bike off of me. I'd be looking at max a 600, maybe even an older lower cc 2 stroke to get me into track. Was offered a 1000 but my riding ability is just not up to par on it for sure. Let me know though...

Chances are if the seller actually raced/trackday'ed it for a season or more, that it would be in somewhat good condition... no?

One would think so.
You should see some of the junk wheeled up to tech.

The last track/race bike I bought; my buddy called me and told me I wanted the bike, so I emailed him the money.
It has been a thorn in my side ever since.
