90% of my riding is solo (commute).

Pair group riding I kinda hate because it's usually me behind someone less experienced; I'm just there to keep them company or help them correct n00b mistakes.

Large/small group is where it's at, skill levels are usually spread out, and you can feel the ego just flowing through everyone lol (rev at stoplight for no reason).

How long have you been riding again?

How long have you been riding again?

2 seasons, this is the 3rd one. Total of 30k-40k. Spent the most recent winter season reading Total Control and watching Twist of the Wrist II multiple times. I need to take Total Control this summer though as some of the exercises I'm just not confident enough to do alone.

Mind you, the guys I've pair ridden with are usually starting their first season lol

I prefer riding alone around the city, but if I'm going for a jaunt out to the backroads I prefer to have 1 or 2 people with me

I don't like riding alone, but I prefer to be off road. I have had the bike fall on me in such a way that I could t get it off me.

I tend to meander back roads doing photography so guaranteed to drive most riders up a wall.

What photography kit do you carry, and how do you carry it? I have an OGIO Tail-Bag, and want to take my RebelXS & lens or two with me, but worried about it banging around in the bag. Any 'internal padding' solutions?

Wow I am surprised at the number of people that choose to ride alone, also surprising are the number of people that masterbate on the side of the road while riding and call it a "2 up" ride...Very interesting...

Solo, two-up or groups just as long as I am riding. Large groups are my least fave and the only time I will endure this is for the Ride for Dad event.

I won't lie. I lol'd at this one. I prefer to ride alone because a: new bike and I'm getting myself acquainted with it. b: I set my destination, pace and can change anything on the fly. c: There's always a hot dog in the group rides and I'm a sucker for being egged on which will only lead to tickets :D

Most of my riding is solo commuting and such, but I like riding in pairs the most.

It's fun to hoon around with a bud and there's no group of people to keep track of.

I use a 5 million dollar home bag ( silly aussie name ) that is very well padded and I put that in a knapsack.

but I have 110 litres of storage so different situation.
I find wearing the camera with the lens tucked into the jacket pocket or shirt pocket ( I use fishing shirts with big pockets ) works very well and saves stopping getting the camera out.

I can put two cameras and 3 lenses in that crumpler bag plus batteries and binocs tho I'm using MFT camera and lens and the second camera is a tiny Lx7 which is great for macros.

tho the Gx1 is not much larger.

stripped down with the pancake lens on.

then it turns to this

which is the same as this!!!!

The Canon 600mm F/4 with photographer attached is on the left. On the right is me shooting the Lumix GH3 with a 100-300mm F/4-5.6 lens. In the Micro Four thirds world all lenses are multiplied 2x so the Lumix 100-300 is actually equivalent to a 200-600mm lens. The same long magnification as the massive Canon lens.
