How do you know when your tires are warmed up?

That was a beautiful article and I think on my next set, I'm switching to Pirelli!

Have you ever taken a track school?

Even if you have no intentions of doing track days it's well worth the money.

Racer5 or FAST can be done for less than price of replacing OEM fairings on most bikes.

I haven't and it's something on my bucket list; just not this year.

I'm not a crazy rider, I just like to cruise from point A to point B.

I was just curious as I'm very meticulous with my possessions and how they work :D

You will get a better understanding of tire grip than reading a magazine article.

Even if you ride the speed limits, the skills gained at a track school can/or will invaluable to your roadcraft.

I'm signed up to take the Fast course and the Lee Parks Total Control. Racing or not, you learn what you can do on a bike, safely. You can learn what your limits are, plus it's fun!

Where did you sign up for those?

if you're front wheel goes up in acceleration, and you're rear wheel goes up in front braking, you are good to go!

This is good ADVISE!

There's a really slippery bit of pavement right near my house. Every time I ride off I take the corner pretty easy and roll hard on the throttle on the way out. The angle of my drift tells me how cold the roads/my tires are.

And if I've been riding through crap/in a straight line for a while I do a few weaves before a corner to clean off that line of crap that's built up on my tire, not to warm them up ;)

Wow! Horrible advise....Why would you do such a silly thing....oh WAIT...we know why....!

Totally agree especially if I am up north on 118 or 35 and there is construction always a couple of weaves to clean off the crap.

I'm not convinced that dirt STICKS to your tire and doesn't get flung off when you're above say, 60kmh? Don't see how the weaving thing "cleans" off your tire...

The dirt does stick to a warm tire. If you watch a race where a rider goes through the sand they'll take the next couple corners a little easier till the dirt is scrubbed off. Easing into your first few turns works the same as weaving but you don't look as cool.

Unless you have one of these running ahead of you, maybe it would be a good idea to just run at a nice street pace.Chicken strips and all.
