Holy Gas is cheap on a motorcycle Batman!

I have friends with econo boxes that get the same or better mileage than my bike even if I ride it like grandma. The upside is I have twice as much fun or more when I don't ride like that.

On my 2013 Wee strom I was getting around 340 to 380km per tank until the last bar started flashing and I would fill up... usually around 17 litres or so. Which from what I read is a bit low for a Wee, but I attributed that to slabbing it at 120+, using cases which push wind, and sometimes touring with both the cases and the wife at 120+.

About 2000km ago I switched to using synthetic oil (Rotella T6) at 21000km on the bike, and I also now usually fill up with Shell premium -- not that my bike needs premium, it doesn't, but because I've been reading up on how ethanol burns hotter and is not great for engines and gets worse mileage - so I thought I would run ethanol free when possible.

I don't know which of those two variables is causing it, or maybe a bit of both, but in the last 4 or 5 tanks since doing that I have been hitting 400km or more before the last bar starts flashing and having to put 17l in, and I haven't changed riding style at all. My dash mileage indicator usually says I am only using about 4.1 or 4.2l/100km now.

My R6 gets about 6L/100km and yes I do commute to work almost everyday, most I have spent to fill her up is about 20 bucks.

Yeah I ride about the same as you, I'm right around the 220 mark.

GAs is not cheaper, your bike just takes less off it

1,24???where is this magical land you speak off that has gas at 1,24? Oh papa please tell me

Dunno about $1.24, but I have a cottage up north near Orillia and last weekend gas was $1.31 there. It's always cheaper there than in the city.

my cbr250r takes $15 empty to full on regular. gets around 400km/tank -/+ 10km depending.
and my integra needs give or take $50 for a full tank on regular and gets around 520km/tank.

so my bike clearly has better gas mileage. mind you, my integra is not stock, and has been "molested" with.

The car I had a few years ago (Jetta TDI) got better fuel economy than both bikes I've owned... My Dad's Echo still gets better fuel economy than both.

Don't drive a gas guzzler and it will be the same. If you consider that most cars can carry 4-6 people it's way cheaper to drive.
