Hockey bags for lugging/storing moto gear

After seeing the ridiculous pricing of actual moto gear bags, I decided to just buy a wheeled hockey bag for lugging my stuff around on trips like the one to the Dragon. I previously borrowed one from my brother and liked having everything together instead of thrown all over the floor of the trailer like I used to, and moving everything in one shot between the house, car, friend's trailer, and motel was a time and energy saver.

Canadian Tire has two bags on sale for $60 and $70. The cheaper bag is actually larger overall (200L vs 170L) but all one cavernous space. I originally figured it was the no-brainer, but ended up going with the other one for silly little things like the larger diameter/more rugged wheels, extra handles, vents and compartments. The bottom 5 inches of the end compartments aren't sewn in, so they can be pushed out of the way and you can use the full length of the main bag from end to end if you needed (you'll understand when you see it). The recurring complaint in the reviews was the plastic zipper failing, so we'll have to see how that goes. I'm not rough on my stuff, and for something I'll only use a couple times a year at most, I don't think I need the extra ruggedness of the purpose-made gear bags. Worse comes to worse, I can always replace it with a YKK as long as the bag itself lasts.

In case anyone's interested, these are the two that seemed worthwhile and they should be on sale until Friday:

I've done this for my snowmobile equipment. work well for keeping everything in one spot.

The other option is just a normal airplane luggage bag. Lots of space, and majority of people have one or two laying around collecting dust.
