im sure its fine for dirt bikes... but im not putting my street bike on that.....one of the main reasons i bought a pickup truck.
and i planned on getting a quad and dirt bike.....

Curious to see if anyone uses them for not dirtbikes, researched them abit and people saying things like how it makes your car more back heavy / screws up suspension.

I have this rack. I carry my 300lb xr no problems w it. I also have a BOSS carrier which I have used for my Duke. The Boss is heavy duty w an anti rattle device. For the price hauling a dirt bike it does fine. I know people that have used this rack to haul a cbr600 without any problems. Make sure your vehicle he can handle the tongue weight and your good to go. My suv can handle no problems but then again it has a truck frame.

cars arent menat to carry a load like that on a trailer hitch. its one thing to pull a trailer with wheels and leaf springs then put a bike in it... barely any strain, weight is distributed over 2 axles.. but with these they are putting all the weight on the hitch only supported by the cars rear suspension and will make the rear end dip.
sure its going to wear out your suspension a little faster.

i know a guy who use to have a denali and he used one for his dirtbike on the back of his SUV... now those have good suspension so i doubt it really affected it... but if it was a honda civic or hell even a crv...ya its going to ride like crap and wear parts out.

I use a Versa Haul with my F 150. Have trailer package and airbags, absolutely no sag. John got a pic with your bike on, would like to see the choke setup

I don't think I took one since I put the chock on, works amazing for loading and unloading your motorcycle by yourself! Before I could unload by myself (but dangerously), but could never load it by myself. Now both are super easy. Then I just unbolt it and use it for riding into it on the ground for the rest of my track day.

I'll shoot a video of me loading and unloading it on Sept 17th (next track day).

Thanks, look forward to seeing it. I know what you mean by loading and unloading, wife always needs to hold bike up on rail while I get the Canyon Dancers on then she can bugger off!

I guess that'd be one way to make my Civic a low rider....LoL....I think the back suspension on my car would explode over the first bump at speed with a bike hanging off...

Well, yeah, since you'd be at double or triple the tongue weight for any hitch you're going to find for a car.

If you can find a hitch for a Civic with a tongue weight rating of over 500 lbs I'd be impressed.

Props to big Joe Bass for posting this inspirational bit of info. Just picked up trailer hitch and 2x10x10 lumber to mimic above carrier. Couple cut out ovals (think Indy 500) for the wheels to slot into and bobs your uncle. For fat bicycle. Thanks big Joe Bass. Have yourself an:icescream:
