Hi there!

I just wanted to say hi to the GTA riders out there. Wish you all a fantastic riding season! I am so glad to be back on my motorcycle again (picking her up tomorrow) after a snapped chain caught between the rear wheel and swingarm downed me. I did break a bone in my foot and cracked one rib but the worst part was not having my bike in ride able condition. I have to thank my friend "T" whose master welding skills sorted out my swingarm and TED from Rosey Toes for getting my bike carbs, valves and new chain/tire on!

I am planning a Toronto - Alaska - Toronto ride this August, on a budget. I will be lurking around threads and asking lots of questions!

Thanks for having me!

J.

A snapped chain is a bit of bad luck, only ever had two in over 30yrs riding. Good job your safe and soon back on the road. Take care.

Welcome to the forum Nice bike! How long have you been riding?

Hey Thanks for the welcoming Party! :occasion2:

I have been riding for 5 years now.

The chain snapped at the master link, which I did not have riveted. From now on, all my chains will be. Also, it was unfortunate that the chain caught itself between the swingarm and wheel, otherwise the rear wheel wouldn't have locked up like it did and I would have had a better chance to keep the bike upright.

I have extended my license until June 1st, when I will be doing my M2 exit. If by chance I do not pass, will I still be able to drive my motorcycle home?
I assume NOT because the temp license issued says not valid after road test...

The picture is my bike in Tobermory Ontario in the parking lot @ Bruce Penninsula National Park.
About a 5hr ride north, 300km's. Stayed 4 nights, in a beautiful Bed and Breakfast, clean with great hosts and cheap rates!
If you have never been up there don't waste any more time! Get a boat ride to Manitoulin island and see the sights! Don't forget to stop by Craigs Caves!
