Heading to Barber, looking for ideas

I'm heading down to Alabama to the Barber museum this August. I'll be stopping at The Dragon and Wheels Through Time. Any other points of interest? We're planning on an 11 day trip and will be riding an Electra Gide and a Road Glide.
Thanks

We're probably going down for the Vintage Festival in late Sept, early Oct.
Last time we also did Dollywood, the National Corvette Museum, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Anchor bar.
This year my friend wants to do Beale Street, I suggested Mount Airy, so far.

Are you passing through NC? A fan of the Fugitive movie?

These are all places I've been and they all are bike friendly.

I can't give you much in the way of points of interest, but if you want any extra twisty roads to ride on your way down, then let me know and I'd be happy to help. Barber is amazing.

Any information on twisty roads would be great. Thanks
I went down to Barber in 2010 for the vintage bike fest and took the 219 all the way down and then the Blue Ridge Parkway / Skyline Drive all the way home. I also scooted over to Mississippi to ride the Natchez Trace. I camped the whole way, with a goal of staying in free campgrounds, since I was poor. While the route links are now dead and I haven't spent the time to fix them, this thread should have some other good background which you might find useful: Ride Report - Toronto to Alabama (Barber Museum)

This thread is a good start for twisty roads: Stateside Roads - the twistier the better!
I will update it one of these days with a lot more roads I have been on since I started that thread, but there's a lot of good info in it as it is.

The following ride reports also have all the best roads I have been on mapped out from Ontario all the way down to the Smoky Mountains.
Ride Report - 2022 Smoky The Dragon
Ride Report - Another rip into the Smoky's
Ride Report - Fall Colours and Twisties - Eastern States
Ride Report - Smoky Mountains

Hope that helps:)
