have an hour to change the oil but bought 10w40 instead of 10w30, as per user manual

2x. you do need lower/higher viscosity when operating a bike base on temp (like cars) i don't see any harm here
 
Depending on what you ride, even the manual sometimes will mention more than one. My 2011 CBR250RA calls for 10w30, but says 10w40 is fine. For the record my last change (5,000km ago) was with 10w40 Amsoil, and the bike never melted or exploded, so you are likely fine. lol
 
10 40 and 10 30 are the same at start up bit 10 40 thins out a bit less at temp it is a actually a better oil and will cause no harm.
