Are they worth it? Do they really keep you hands nice and cozy.
i love sticking my hands into a nice warm muff
If you are talking about "HippoHands" http://www.hippohands.com/?gclid=CO7lndO_z7ICFUZgMgodF3AAAg be VERY careful using them.A lot of folks have done a lot of damage to their brakes and/or clutch with a careless install.
They do work really well tho.I had a pair 30 years ago on a dualsport.
is it because the HH can be pushed by the wind to engage the brake/clutch?
Yep, would happen on my V45 at 110kph and over. Another forum member here posted a solution awhile ago, which was to bend a coat hanger to make a ghetto 'frame' for the HH to push back on when the wind hits.
Seems like a pretty basic design flaw? There's nothing a coat hanger and some duct tape can't fix!
Another forum member here made wind deflectors out of semi-thick clear plastic (1mm or so maybe 2mm), and stuffed them between his farings. That combined with the hippo hands would make quite the warm ride.
I've done that too...
combined with heated grips, I didn't need much more. No HH and helps in the rain too.
