GTA to Buffalo airport shuttle?

short stop

As the title suggests, does anyone here fly out of the Buffalo airport? Anyone recommend a reasonably priced taxi or shuttle service? I've shopped around and gotten a few quotes in the $200-range, but I thought I'd check and see if there's anything cheaper. Worse comes to worse I may hassle a friend or family member to drive our butts, but it will be a hard sell at 2 in the morning....

Call Niagara Airbus. They won't pick you up at home, but they'll pick you up from Pearson and take you to Buffalo.

Not sure if driving isn't an option for you..but you can get a week of parking down there for $50..I wouldn't pay for a shuttle personally. Throw it in Long Term Lot B I think it is..under the control tower..and the bus will be waiting behind you before you get your trunk open! :-)

I always stay at the buffalo niagara mariott. Normally you can get it on price line for ~$65 and it includes two weeks of parking and a free shuttle (although you'd have to take a taxi for ~$15 for a middle of the night flight).

Greyhound bus goes there. It starts in Mississauga near Cawthra and QEW and will drop you off at the Buffalo airport. Fare is about $25 i believe.

Technically driving IS an option for me, but I ruled it out early because I'm paranoid about leaving my car in one of those lots for almost a week. Maybe it's safer than I'm predicting?

Well, the Buffalo airport guy told me to put it in Lot B under the control tower because there's someone there 24/7 and they keep an eye on the lot. I've done it and a couple of my co-workers have parked there and we haven't had a problem. But that's a pretty small sample size! :-) I have a plain car so I don't really worry..nothing worth stealing really. But yeah, I can see break-ins as an issue in places like that so I understand your concern for sure.

This.

They also leave from the Dowtown Toronto location straight to Buffalo Airport. $18 with a Student card, other wise around $25-30.

So is Lot B part of airport property, or is it a separate parking lot similar to the Park N Flys here at Pearson? Do we just drive to the airport and look for the control tower? Our car is a Mazda 3, so I'm not worried that it's a highly-targeted car, really...

That doesn't sound like a bad option either, but I'll have to check their schedule and see if buses run in the middle of the night (our flight leaves Buffalo at 6am).

There's an 11pm bus that leaves Toronto for Buffalo, it usually gets there around 2-230am. Last time I went, we were delayed at the border because of some people that didn't have their passports in order to cross, so we ended up getting tot he airport at 4am, which was fine, because our flight was at 6:15am.

Just checked the prices, for $16, you can't go wrong. I'll wait a few hours at the airport for that price.

The Parking Lot B is off to the right. The airport owns it I believe, it's just a bit further away. But honestly, it's like a 2 minute ride. It's really quite short. And there's a shuttle bus there..but the airport is not really very busy so the bus basically follows you to your parking spot and takes you immediately to the airport. I was pleasantly surprised how smoothly it went. Honestly, I won't fly anywhere out of Pearson if I can get a flight in Buffalo. The prices are half usually what Toronto is.

Tell me about it. The prices for flights from Pearson to LAX were unbelievable. This my first time flying out of Buffalo, and I don't think it will be my last.

I fly out of Buffalo alot, even the executive lot is pretty reasonable compared to T.O. , about $125 a week. We use long term if its 5 days or more and its about $50-60 bucks. its a dream compared to Park and Pray at Pearson.
very secure, lots of orbiting shuttles to get you to the terminal and all on site at the airport.

I drive because the T.O. shuttles arent always going and coming when I'd like, I de- plane and like to be home bound in 10 mins, not standing around waiting for my ride. Plus Ft Erie bridge always has the best prices on duty free rum......

I have left my car at the Holiday Inn Express across the road several times without incident.

What's the big deal?

It's not really in an area that would be that risky IMO. Google earth it.

Anyway, I never lost any sleep over it any of the times I have...... probably 6-7 times now.

I've taken Megabus from Toronto Coach terminal (downtown) to Buffalo airport before. They had a sale; came out to be $7 or so one way. I think it's still pretty cheap even without a sale, probably < $20.

Only problem is they only have 2 buses that go there each day.

Well, it IS Buffalo... :-) I thought about it like ShortStop did..those lots, anywhere, are prone to theft. I just figured, who is going to break into my car? What are the odds? At the end of the day, I figured meh whatever. And yeah, nobody I know has had problems so I think she's good to go.

I always park across the street at the Thrifty parking lot behind the Timmies. It's a secure gated and well lit lot with free shuttle bus across the road to the terminal. If you look online you may also find parking coupons. So convenient not to have to bother friends or family for a ride and your car is always waiting for you when you get back. OP, believe me, if this is your first BUF experience it won't be your last. The price differences are sickening!
