GSXR Odometer Stuck

The odometer on my 98 750 Srad is stuck on 999999. I wouldn't be bothered by it but the trip odometer doesn't work either and I use it to track fuel when on long rides. Has anyone had or found a fix for this problem.

Thanks

Take note GTAMers.....so many around here think that 30,000 kms is too high mileage. This guy's bike rolledover 100K, and still running well enough he takes it on long rides.

Long live the SRAD!

With the exception of one wiring problem this bike has been bullet proof. I bought it end of season 05 with 12,000 on it, had it dyno'd when I got it. I had it dyno'd again last fall with 87,000 on it, same dyno and it made 1 more hp (ambient temp was 2deg warmer for the second dyno).

What did she put down (and on what dyno)? :)

If I remember correctly it was 114.8hp, interestingly it made 3 more hp than the 07 750 they ran 10 minutes later. I won't say what dyno to avoid the place being trashed by the guys on here who live to trash anything they can.

No probs, that's a great number. Most current 750's were putting down 118 to 120 at the last free dyno day :)

When I passed 99,999 kms on my SRAD, I searched high and low for a solution to the problem (really only thing that bothered me was the 2 trip meters also being frozen).

What I did do, and worked well for me till till I crashed it at 123,000 kms, was to buy a Garmin Streetpilot 2720 (used - eBay - round $100). it has 4 user resetable mileage logs which I used 1 for fuel, 1 for oil changes, 1 for trips, and one for the life of the GPS.

Each mileage log can be esily turned on/off so if you use that same GPS in your car or whatever, you can disable whichever log is appropriate.

I've used this same GPS for over 80,000 kms now, and it's going strong. Fully waterproof to IPX7 standards and all the good stuff too.

Here's an old screenshot where I clearly forgot to reset the fuel log - but only the "LIFE of GPS" log is active.
This was 14,270 kms after passing 99,999 on the OEM ODO.

Another quick and easy solution I stumbled across was to use a cheap $10 bicycle speedometer/ODO. The wired (or wireless) kind with a magnetic sensor.

I've read people have had great success with them by taking care to install the magnet a little better than you would on a bicycle, and once calibrated, they apparently work like a champ as a cheap and easy solution to get an ODO/Trip meter.

How can a 07 750 make so little? My 04 makes 130, but i didnt do it. I gotta dyno it again.

For op's question. Theres a guy who resets odo in d states. Just send in ur papers to declare you're not gonna sell it

That's the strongest 750 I have heard of. Must have lots of goodies in it.

I always thought they rolled over back to 0....is this model specific?

Analog odo rolls to 0, digital remains stuck.

Full titanium headers & exhaust; K&N; and retuned ECU.

I have the dyno to prove it. Unless the dyno wasn't properly calibrated. I need to do another dyno just to make sure.

Ps. It was 133hp to be exact. Doesn't a 600cc make 120hp these days??

COuld very well be. TLDeano has a breathed on GSXR 750....08/09 ish I think.I borrowed it a couple yrs ago for a trackday and it was mild mannered and easy to ride in stock trim.

Yesterday he was at TMP with it, and I gave chase....no way could I catch him. Even on the straights it would pull away from my CBR929. It's fast. I know he had some headwork and cams degreed etc at Fast Company, but other than that I am unsure what else is done to it.....but man it's got some motor.

I have a friend with a 929, the HP numbers were around the same as my 750. However, I think he would have more torque.

pretty sure my 07 750 was dyno'd at Z1 at 127hp.... full akra exhaust, pc3, 520 chain, +2 rear -1 front
