I was just wondering if this is a good price, or anyone suggest a different broker/insurance company

Age: 19 turning 20
City: Waterloo
Bike: Kawasaki Ninja 250r 2011

quote: around $2413/year

edit:
I have looked at state farm, but they will not quote me since in only have 4 years driving experience. :'(

edit2:
Additionally, i want to start riding before my m2 (the courses are pretty booked up), does Jevco or any other company (i know TD doesn't) insure m1 licenses?

that's about as good as it's gonna get, in my experience... have you tried Jevco?

Age: 24
City: midland
Bike: Honda Cbr 600 F4i
Full M licence

quote: Jevco $7,300/year
TD. $7,500/year

I feel your pain man haha

State farm quoted me just under $5000/ year with my car being under them, so give them a call

I plan on calling in tomorrow.

i've heard that after the first year, the premiums drop. is this true? or is it more of a >25 years old thing?

Yea.. I've been looking into it, after having your license for a year there is a big drop with Jevco.. and TD M&M said the same thing

It's an F4i and he's not 25.

Yes I know its an F4i and hes not 25. Even so $5000 is high if it were a clean record. Do you think people here with their SS's pay $5000 a year?

I noticed with TD if you tell them your school and put that discount in - it makes a HUGE difference!

Alumini > student dicount

not too surprised at his number thou. if i put markham as my main city, my premiums for a 250cc rose to 4.5k and >7k for something 400cc

i swear, insurance is the only reason i'd ever want to age past 25 T-T... maybe a couple more things too

I forgot to write it in, my record is clean. No tickets, no accidents. I've been looking for kingsway's number but I can't find it. They were a cheap company to be insured with. Anyone know if their still around?

I think Jevco bought out Kingsway.

I think Jevco bought out Kingsway.

Jevco was once a subsidiary of Kingsway, but Kingsway was doing so terrible (paying out in excess of $1.30 for every dollar they took in) that they were consumed by Jevco a few years ago.

It sounds like Jevco just recently revised their rating structure. There will be a drop after your first year, but not nearly as significant in the past. They used to consider an "experienced' operator as someone who was simply M1/M2 licensed for 12MO, but now they have segmented "experience" into different categories as follows:

00MO to 12MO
12MO to 24MO
24MO to 36MO
36MO+

The drop will be more progressive until you cap out your experience discount at 3 years.
