I have some lightly used gear that I don't want anymore. Selling on Kijiji is a pain in the butt. Anyone know of any options for giving stuff away painlessly? Does anyone have a swap meet every now and then?
 
I would post it here and offer it for free with pick-up. You might be able to help out a new rider who needs gear.
 
I tried to give something away here once and it was still like the Kijiji pain. PMs and phone calls to match up a time and trying to explain directions. Next time it goes into a bag and gets dropped off at Sally Ann.
 
What about giving it to the rider training course people? I bet they get people turning up dressed in the wrong stuff all the time.
 
If you want - I'll take the whole lot off your hands. Almost all of my friends are on the look out for one piece of gear or another and everyone loves freebie.
I am also downtown all the time and don't mind meeting people during lunch to give what's left as pay it forward
 
Right now I don't have a ton of stuff. A pair of boots, couple of pairs of gloves, maybe a jacket.

Last year I had a helmet, gloves, boots and jacket and it took me a while networking with people to find good homes for them. I just wondered if others were having the same issue and if there was some expedient way of getting them into the hands of someone that would make better use of them.

You could also try Freecycle. I've been using Freecycle for years and it's a great way to get rid of stuff. Also, porch-pickups are the norm for most transactions.

The GTA Freecycle group is huge...I am sure you won't have trouble finding new homes for your stuff.

+1 - If I don't want to deal with pick up for whatever reason I just post it in free stuff sectiona and specify where items can be picked up. usually everything is gone within 30 min
