Just moved here in the new year. I was looking briefly on google maps and everything seems to be pretty straight... anyone know of any good roads around here? After riding an almost 700km ride on sunday, i have an itch to explore some good twisties. An hour or 2 away is fine.

Thanks in advance

google Bancroft area...anything up hwy 11 towards Huntsville and east to calabogie...118, 35, 508, 509, 511, 60, 141, 169...this area is flat but we do have forks of the credit, hockley valley, Guelph line, cedar springs road (although not up to the other stuff I mentioned)...

I have taken a day trip to Pennsylvania and back and enjoyed awesome roads, so not all is bad. Also there are some ok roads up by muskoka
I was afraid of that. I came out here thinking ay be closer to nicer roads. That doesnt seem to be the case.

Ride from London to hit up the "nice" roads at the Forks of The Credit?

Anyway. It's appx 400 km to Bancroft from London or it's 400 km to Allegheny forest in PA. Easy choice.

Head south past St Thomas to port Bruce, take 42 all the way to port Ryerse. Have lunch and head back.:)
It's a nice twisty road with small elevation changes, runs along Lake Erie. You can also run west towards Leamington.

Yeah - there are some stretches along Lake Erie that are "okay" - more scenic than anything but still a few fun rides.
You could keep along the Lake - all the way to Fort Erie then to Niagara Falls along the Niagara River then slab home.

PA tho - that's the ticket.

5 hours for you ...

https://goo.gl/maps/Nu5ho - depends on the border...big time worth it.

Great recommendations.

Op. London is dead centre in the middle of farm land. It's flat with grids of concession roads. Not much in terms of scenery.

Even the roads along Lake Huron are boring.

Lake Erie is better.

There are some pockets of good riding out towards KitchenerGuelph.

Peterborough area is nice.

Or head south as recommended.

Last fall I rode form Toronto - London along Lake Erie. From Turkey Point to Port Bruce is nice, a little twist and some really nice scenery. Outside of that everything north of St. Thomas is flat and boring. I went north up to Grand Bend and returned via Seaforth and farm country. There really is nothing until you hit New Dundee in the Kitchener-Waterloo-Cambridge area.

Was thinking more like an FZ1. :)

If you are down for a ride saturday let me know I got a buddy coming.

Everyone else, thanks for the recommendations. ill be doing the a south shore run, hopefulyl the scenery will make up for the lack of twists.

I would do a PA run but i dont quite know my way around there more, I guess ill have to do some more reading.
