No, they can turn you around for having any Chinese phone. They don't want them there, or anyone who uses them.

this is possible, and not a thing we can do about it

I did dozens of times with my OnePlus without issue
seems the focus now is on Huewei
not sure a border agent would know what a Xiaomi is or looks like

I think there would have to be an underlying cause for them to want to see the phone

Xiaomi OS disables Android Smart Lock
cannot set home as a safe location to keep phone unlocked
cannot setup trusted bluetooth devices (car) to keep phone unlocked

this is a PITA
maybe enough to make me unlock the bootloader and put Lineage on it

I put lineage 16 (pie) on my s7 but rolled back because certain features were gone. Also the camera it came with was really bad. Tried to get gcam working but had some trouble. Other 3rd party cam apps weren't as good as Samsung's own.

I thought to myself that I do which IT stuff at work and got tired of trying to make it good.

Anyways, one thing to keep in mind for things like camera.

Bluetooth unlock works for me. Just searched for it in settings.

One thing that is weird about Xiaomi is that certain features are disabled for certain regions.

Ie face unlock in Canada. You also get ads if you set it to India. I use UK.
