Fuel prices. $40 fill up for CB500f !!!

Karma will catch up to the supreme misleader, donut truck, for all this nonsense.

In other news, every company losing billions in the EV fad (porsche, honda, etc etc)

Set the wayback machine...I recall filling my new `73 CB350 four at about 35 cents/gallon, around 11 cents/L. Under 2 bucks a tank, of course my p/t job was about $1.65/hour.

Started motorcycle riding in 1958 on a 199cc 1957 Ariel "Colt". Gasoline was 40 cents per Imperial gallon ( 9 cents/litre) and the Colt
would get 100 miles on an Imperial gallon of regular grade.
(M/C basic insurance was $32 per year.) (I got 75 cents/hour as a part-time grocery store clerk.)

I recall being disgusted when my RD400 cracked $5 for a fill up.
Australians are visiting the EV vendors in droves.

Yup - heading out shortly for couple hundred km....still $20 for that - not cheap on a pension.

Marc riding his EV Touring bike in Africa is even better off...getting 300 km+ per charge and it's free chargers in Morocco.

The electric bike crowd is laughing

Crowd? Pfft. Doesn't there need to be at least three of them to make a crowd? 😂

Truth be told I'm planning on reaching out to Can Am this week to see if I can get a loaner one of their e-motorcycles to do a review on this season... but that's honestly more because I want to work with a Canadian business than because I particularly care about EVs.

China's electric motorcycle market is experiencing a strong resurgence in early 2026, with sales growing following a 13.4% gain in the electric segment in 2025. High-performance (L3) models are leading growth, while strict new 2026 regulations (GB17761-2024) are enforcing traceability for batteries and parts. Key players like Yadea dominate.
Motorcycles Data +3
Key Trends and Data for 2026
  • Market Growth: Following a 30% increase in exports and a 26.23% year-on-year rise in total two-wheeler production in early 2026, the market for electric two-wheelers is recovering strongly, with 2025 ending at 9.8 million global registrations.
  • Regulatory Shift: A new ebike law taking effect in 2026 mandates digital IDs and QR code traceability for every battery, motor, and controller. This "2026 ebike traceability reform" ends the use of unbranded, cheap components.
  • Key Manufacturers: Yadea leads with over 920,000 units sold in 2025, followed by Luyuan (591,500 units) and Zongshen (465,100 units).

Right... now remind me, because I still have a concussion...

Best of luck with Can Am as the Canadian market is well down their list of priorities, like near the bottom.

Really? I see more of them each year. Every time I talk to one of their riders they say they really like them and it gets them out more.
I guess maybe not enough of a worthwhile number to make it a viable market.

I formed my opinion on their indifference of pursuing the Canadian market by my inquires to head office for information on a couple of their products.
Nothing, zip, nada not even a form response.
A competitor got the sales.
