Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Burlington and Oakville, as well as a smog advisory for all of Greater Toronto.
The agency says that as of 3 p.m. Friday, “weather radar indicates a strong thunderstorm over the north end of Hamilton and moving slowly northward toward Aldershot.”
It warns of “golf ball-size hail” and a potential “torrential rainfall.” Residents are advised to monitor the weather and take safety precautions in case of threatening weather.
