Hi,
What is a good lap time for the Formula Femme race at Grand Bend?

Also, do you remember what they usedto be at cayuga?
Thanks.

Nick: Your wife would run mid pack to upper half I believe at her pace.

The last two seasons SOAR has not had digital timing so lap times would be done by either a personal AIM beacon, GPS timer on a bike or by stop watch. That is why I can say that I hold the lap record for last year in my class :-)
parillaguy
PS some of the riders in the Femme Class would easily smoke my best time

^^ I wanna see if I was a female, if I'd have been competitive.

Ha.......ha! My wife may race next year. She pulled off a 1 min 22 .8 at Cayuga on her 600. Corsara, thats around 1 second off your 1000cc pace isn't it?

We are going to GB on Thursday and have never been. If anyone can list times for whatever configuration, it'd be helpful for future track days, I'm just curious and it'll give her a goal to reach. We are looking forward to our first track day there, can't believe we waited this long. :)

Damnit....my two advantages not worth a ****.. In this case, no wig and formula femme races for me, I need some more practice first ;)

round 3 last year http://soaracing.ca/html/round_3.html

round 4 last year http://soaracing.ca/html/round_4.html

I think this was the last time the timing was working, it was pretty sketchy as you can see for round 4 as there were no FF times.

There are 4 different track layouts at grand bend. It'll be screaming alien on thurs. IIRC around 1:10 should be a descent time on that layout. 1:22.8 is respectable at tmp on a 600. But just be forewarned there are some very quick females racing in femme. Ill be there racing this weekend so ill get some numbers from the "racers" and post them up after Sunday.

Edit ... I see jay got times up. There ya go.

girls are lighter thus can go around corners faster. your advantage is lost corsara.

Unfortunately every time a new round of SOAR is completed and they post the results, they overwrite the results table from that round from the previous year, which had the lap times on them. Thus, we are progressively losing access to all of the old lap times that were in the SOAR database.

I wish Ken or whoever would make the old tables with lap times available from previous years, including from days gone by at TMP - it's very useful information for those of us trying to improve our times to know where we stand relative to decent race times for each track layout and racing class.

Sorry folks I dont do internet updates so cant really help ya that said there is a new system in the works that has all the software written and as soon as i have a few spare (thousands) I will buy the hardware and get it done I dont like it either. Being that ALL commercial systems are crazy expensive and never seem to work we decided to build our own. Hired a top programmer and have it pretty much canned and ready to go with features never before seen however, I was sued this year for a crash in 2011 and all the money went to the lawyers sorry, some people seem to think them falling off their own bike on dry pavement all by themselves is somehow my fault and decided to sue. Thats why there is no timing system. Sorry,
Bottom line unless you won your going too slow :D I have a sweet AIM laptimer for sale if anyone is intersted.

Sorry, Kozy. From the question I totally figured you were Xtina under a new moniker.

Xtina must be very foreseeing to create an account in 2006 and maintain it throughout the years, so that she can ask her question in 2013 ;)

That truly sucks about the lawsuit. It's actions like that (not just by racers but also track day participants) that threaten to ruin the sport for everyone. Seriously, if you aren't prepared to take 100% personal responsibility for whatever happens to you on the track, STAY HOME!!!

It's amazing what some people think they can get away with. Unfortunately, nowadays, it seems all of society thinks it's everyone's fault but theirs.

I would hope a judge would throw this out right away. But lawyers fees alone can ruin you.

Hope it turned/turns out in your favour.

Would be great to be able to view results on MyLaps, does anyone know what is involved to do this? Ken do they want a boatload of money?

For us to use that we need to buy the system (about 6K) but then i need a couple suitcases of transponders (rentals) thats about $25K with hardware and I have to maintain/charge/keep track of etc...... as well as implore our riders to spend another $400. My belief is its a dead technology and will soon go the way of the VCR and telephone booth. The RFID system is in my opinion better and no cost to our riders. It also I believe will be the next to die as soon as gps technology improves and a system is written to track and time 40 bike at a time.

Well I'm no expert, but that does sound like a boatload of money. For a soon-to-be obsolete system. Ken I'd bet your intuition will be right!
