No! point taken, but unlikely I think.
I am all for zero tolerance in school zones when it makes sense. I suspect much of their revenue will be at 2 am when every car is speeding (maybe shift the ticket threshold eg only ticket at 20+ over during these times?). A school zone at 2 am has no meaning other than as a fundraiser.
Switzerland gives you 3 km/h. Above that, you're getting a ticket.
Sydney, Australia was absolutely brutal, in terms of the number of scameras.
I really don't have an issue with photo enforcement if what's being enforced makes sense: speed limits set by proper engineering criteria, not merely because residents complain about people going too fast. If everyone is breaking the law, then the law is wrong.
Brampton needs red-light cameras, including right-on-red-fail-to-stop enforcement, and stop-sign-fail-to-stop cameras.

wow, very tight, I would argue for 5 or 8 kmh as tight and reasonable.

TOLERANCE: Up to 100 km/h: 5 km/h, 101 to 150 km/h: 6 km/h, over 150 km/h: 7 km/h for fixed speed cameras. Speeding and other traffic offences are subject to on-the-spot fines. You may go to jail in Switzerland for excessive speeding.

Some have been painted, at least one has completely disappeared and is presumed stolen. They don't upload in real time, they get visited and downloaded by people. I won't be surprised if very shortly there are trail cams across the street watching the speed cameras so there is a record of what happened.
Trail camera won't help identify a pedestrian wearing nondescript clothing and a mask. Won't identify where a bullet came from, either.
The best countermeasure against camera proliferation is to behave around them. Those cameras cost money to install and operate. If the camera becomes a money-losing proposition, it will go away. May take a while.

Apparently the camera supplier is responsible for any vandalism or replacement costs. Stealing enough of them puts a hurting on the camera supplier but the municipality feels no pain nor desire to limit the spread. I am not sure if there is any out in the contract for the supplier if losses exceed expectations or if they are stuck licking their wounds and continuing to light money on fire for the length of the contract.

Hopefully they do not do that... I cannot say speedos of all cars are calibrated accurately. My Mazda's speedo is off by atleast 5kmph( on the lower end)

I said back on page 1 of this thread that the entire city will be posted as a community safety zone!
If 40 km/h is the lowest limit recognized by the HTA, just how did the City of Toronto create all those 30 km/h zones? I'm pretty sure they're posted with black on white signs so they are HTA compliant.

Yeah, umm, I'm struggling with this one.
It's better to change road design to bring the 85th percentile speed in line with the desired speed than just change a sign. Road design has a large effect on the travel speed. The sign should mainly be confirmation/backstop of the safe comfortable travel speed of that roadway.

just watched the remainder of the video. guys came up with a plan to go to a casino and win back their 3100 euro fine.
you can guess how well that went..
total is now 4050 euro's
more tax dollars for switzerland on the casino's earnings!
makes me want to invite these guys to canada
