Flattened Honda C70

There are two allowable parking conditions for bikes that I care about. Either it is inside my own locked building, or it doesn't leave my sight. I don't trust the general public.
I don't trust general public parking either but my bike is my general full time method of transportation I don't exactly have the luxury of not having it leave my sight, and parking it a locked building costs $100+/month, but is starting to look pretty damn good compared to getting hit every week or every other week.

If your bike got hit while it was legally parked then an insurance claim is not going to affect your claims record. It will be a "not at fault" claim. Unless you have full coverage insurance, it may be a battle getting a claim started - but given that this was essentially a hit-and-run, I'd pursue it "just because". If the other party is at fault, you won't have to pay the deductible, either.

As far as the other person is involved is concerned ... you have witnesses, and phone calls from insurance agents and, if necessary, police officers pointing out that they were in a hit-and-run, tend to motivate such people.

Collisions with less damage than the deductible normally aren't reportable ... but if the other driver is not co-operating, then that doesn't apply.

I don't have full coverage, I've only got liability. They won't give me full coverage unless I get the bike appraised. I have no idea what my deductible even is since I've only got liability. She is definitely being far from cooperative, thus far. I'm definitely calling my agent on Monday.

Maybe bring pylons with flags to put around your bike
OMFG. LOL- You just made my morning. Very good idea. I'd feel/look like a putz doing it- but I don't think there's any legalities to prevent me from doing it. Biggest issue I think is I have no idea where I'd keep them.

They have those "pop-up" pylons. You could fit a few in a backpack ?. Actually not a bad idea, in your case.
As far as Inreb goes, if you want to understand him: Have a shot, or two of tequila, tilt your head on a 45 degree angle, half close your left eye, and then reread his posts. ?

I was thinking about the mini pylons they use for sports, I didn't know they have pop up ones. I'll look into that. As far as inreb goes. I don't drink often, but I'll make an exception for this one night asap. I'm curious. I don't think it'll help with only a shot or two but I'm open to new things and experimenting. lol

I want to say something mean for the lulz but I have no quarrel. Storage space on that bike is an afterthought. Maybe you can put one of those bicycle flags on the bike so people may see it better
I haven't even met you yet, you made my morning and I'm already beginning to not like you. Typical girl.

I think you'll have to eat the worm to understand him
MMMMMMMMMmmmmMMM mmmmMMMMmmmm Good! whatever it takes but I like I just said. I don't think it'll help.

FYI.
I haven't got the pylons or flags. I've been ok.
I did call my insurance company, my broker is gone, I spoke to another she said my rating would not be affected, the other drivers insurance would compensate me.. The damage is minor though. This isn't entirely about the damage but the attitude this lady had is an issue.
I filed the police report. She will be contacted by police and they will be investigating. I provided my witnesses and as much information as I had available to me. I'm debating looking into the possibility of security footage coverage in the area. They might charge her, if they do, I won't make the claim. If they don't I will make the claim. This is all assuming she doesn't contact me to discuss the matter. She did have my contact number. I'm not sure If I should attempt to reach out based on the registration information the police provided me with. I know I don't half too- probably won't.

OP, you seem very nice. Maybe too nice. It's been enough time that if they lady's $#!tty response that day was because she was in a foul mood, that should have passed by now, & she should have contacted you. Let the police/ insurance deal with her. And if she comes to you, make sure she pays for the damage AND a little more.

Good luck, keep updating.

Well It's been over a week since the incident and I haven't heard anything from the other driver, I don't think the cops are going to call me to follow up, as I asked the individual who took pictures and they said i should follow up in 2-4 weeks. I emailed the broker i spoke to when i called about the incident and she just answered me for a quote on another bike so i might have a new broker to deal with, I'll see if I can email her the accident report info.. I get what your saying Joe about me being too nice, and the driver being wrong. I'm pretty sure if she does get charged though her insurance will be affected anyway. NVM if i make the claim her insurance will definitely be affected. I guess what your saying makes sense between her attitude and lack of communication her insurance should be affected either way, if she gets charge that's even better.

On another note, my replacement has been OK since this last incident, I obviously cant fix what has been done, but I'm always doing little things to it. I did a bit more tear down on the old one and it does look like i can safely say the frame is straight and not twisted and the forks are done. It'll be a great donor frame for a big engine swap and some other fun customization.
