Against all better judgement, after looking at the weather forecast 'decided to go on a quick little three day jaunt.
Bikes packed and gassed, ready to launch at sun up tomorrow.

Plan is to burn up to Sudbury and hang a left then up 144 North to 560 East then North again at Elk Lake on 65/66 then up 11 to 101 West to Kettle Lakes.
Camp out there and probably drown.
Next day we'll Ride 101 West towards Wawa then head South to Pancake Bay... 'Maybe drown again?
Day three it'll be 17 to 552 on to 556 East to 129 then 129 South back on to 17 at Thessalon Continuing East back to Sudbury and back home down 69/400.
2300km.
My ride to BC had to be cancelled this year :( so... 'Am trying to get a way for a couple of days here and there throughout the season.

I just did that run in reverse from Kettle lakes to Markham today. I was at Barbers bay this morning, about a mile past Kettle lakes.

Tips:

On your way there, turn LEFT at Sudbury and you’ll be heading home. Go right thru Chelmsford to the 144.

GET GAS at the Watershed station east side of 144 , 144 and 560. You might not find gas till Kenogami.

The FJR is a great bike, I like how easy it is to fit a lot of storage on it. Is that a firstgear torrent dry bag?

Love the near North. Are you staying in parks? That's the land of free rough camping.

Thanks for the tip!
No problem! Have a safe ride (if you were a week earlier you could have bunked at my place in Porcupine), 15 minutes from there.

I’ve been up there for a month, just came back to the city today.

I love some of the roads thru Northern Ontario. Desolate, wild, and fun to ride.

The 144 can also be fast. I remember seeing an FJR running 200kmh for a long stretch.

Be careful after 9pm - missed on the road anre common ant night on those roads, bears are also common near villages and towns.

I think it is a furst gear.
That bag has been out to BC and back like 4 times already..

Oh yeah... hit the road at 0630.
Ride was great until we hooked up with 101 off of 11.
Gave up on moto camping as the rain is, well... The rain is punishingly rainy.
Presently drying out at a hotel in timmins.
Let's hope tomorrow is nicer.

Well at least you got caught in it and didn't have to start in it

Bummer. Looks like rain for today and tomorrow. If you like fishing, pick up a cheapie rod at Canadian Tire or Walmart. Fish the Mattagami at the town dock or from shore in the park-- not many places you can fish from a dock for trophy walleye, pike, and sturgeon.

Check out the tasting room at Full Beard Brewery. Their food truck has awesome food.

Ill post video from my buddy's dash cam soon... lol.
Just to show y'all what kind of rain is be talkin' 'bout
