I just think EBR's stuff is .... questionable. Not just the company's financial reliability but some of the bike's features - lots of people have had issues with that funky front brake, and whether the wheel is lighter than other designs or not, they have been observed as having heat spotting and warping issues under racing loads. Additionally I've personally observed fuel boiling out of the frame and all over the ground as cold underground fuel is poured into a hot frame with restricted spaces in it, have also seen fuel p!ssing out of the overflow onto the pavement for the same reason at other times. I've been told of issues with the oil in the swingarm idea.
I haven't ridden the new SX or RX but I don't even need to, in order to know that they were struggling against any other new bike in 2014 and now they are duking it out against evolved, better versions of everyone's bike in 2016. There's no way they are going to bring a re-design to market before 2018, just can't see how, and by then it's questionable if they will be around. The only thing they can do that I can see is price the bikes below the market they wanted to be in (the premier end of the sports market) and hope that they get enough quantity to bring the brand around. I think the SX may have potential for that, but the RX? I just don't see it... then again, maybe the market is full of guys waiting for a cheaper (and slower, and lower-tech, and even less-supported) v-twin superbike. I am skeptical.
