I just heard on citytv that there was a motorcycle accident at Ellington and mason overnight. The reason I posted here instead of the fallen riders section is because the rider is fine...cops found him running from the scene 4 blocks away and he's currently in jail for a DUI. Idiot.

And they'll be talking about motorcycle safety and for cars to watch out for us as there's been 11 crashes on bike this month alone.

=/ Are all of these crashes happening to 1st year new riders or something? I'm noticing it quite often as well.

I've noticed a swell of new riders this season, much more than others, not to say it's all of them, but it's probably help bump up the average of incidents.

Yeah right, stop blaming this on noobs they are scared stiff and dont even go the speed limit, the idiots crashing are experienced supersport tarzans who think they are invincible and bite the dust when they make a mistake.

Not *all* are on SuperSports. There were a couple cruiser guys who couldn't take a corner this year, and a few cruiser riders hit out in Peel/Durham and Halton Region.

Anyway, for the CITY of Toronto.. here are some stats:

Global Toronto | Map: Toronto motorcycle fatalities up in 2012

Here is a list of more crashes - with pictures. Lots of different types of bikes...

btw - There was another thread a couple weeks back where someone brought up stats for Motorcycle fatalities too.
