I didn't want to hijack gav.man's thread below as he's also looking at an upgrade. I've started looking around for a future bike and would like to try out a smaller cruiser style bike. I LOVE the look of the Sportster/Nighster 883 but not convinced about going the Harley route just yet.
I've also seen the Honda Shadow 750 which looks really nice and has some great reviews out there.
Are there any other bikes that you guys would recommend? I don't want to go with a big bore (1000cc+ cruiser) as I don't need it, and am not looking for a physically huge bike (5'7,150lbs here) so I'm more interested in the smaller bikes.
I've ridden the Virago 535 and really liked it but I'm more interested in newer bikes and don't see much in comparison to the Sportster/Shadow out there in terms of style and size.
