Ducati Owners, Haven't you had the abs light problem

Hey, I was wondering if any ducati owners have had the abs light come on (when the light is on it means ABS is disabled, it's suppose to go off [abs enabled] after 5km/h)?

They only way for me to re-enable the abs (get the abs light off) is to completely turn off the bike (the key in off position) while its moving and turn it back on while still moving.

Also, I'm not sure if this is a related issue, but the speedometer stays at zero (infrequently) despite moving. The same routine above (off then on) fixes the issue.

I don't have warranty as I purchase this bike in the US and i brought it to GP bikes to get my maintenance light off (i got 1st maintenance early in the US before bring it here) and I asked about the issue and they said they don't know and will need to book a multi-day appointment to look at it. Which sounds like its going to be painfully expensive.

My bike is a 2011 Ducati Monster 796, it's just under 7k km. No issues with it otherwise.

Suggestions on who can take a look at this would also be appreciate!

Mine comes on start up. However, when I start riding it goes off. Not too sure about your bike. Are you able to turn on and off the ABS?
You have probably gone through all that.
Craig at Peninsula Sports knows his Duc`s. Nice guy.

Yea, it comes on for startup and stays on. I tested it and the abs is really disabled as the light indicates.

Interesting you mention this. I just saw this reddit posting today and learnt soo much, lol

To be honest I do not know your model. Obvious question is do you know how to change from on to off? You have a slider button on the LH handle bar. Moving this normally changes several different options. Mounted together on your indicator switch.

Do you have a batter tender cable installed on the bike? My was installed by the dealer and they forgot to put back the ABS lead on to the positive terminal. Check that.

I don't know anything about your bike, but my money in on one of the sensors. The abs obviously relys on wheel speed sensors (and the speedo may too), if one of these is not working properly your abs would stop working (and maybe the speedo too)
