New Ducati Monster 821. I assume it will replace the 795/796 in the lineup. Looks like the new 1200.

They're going to wrong way, they need smaller displacement engines lol. 75% of their global sales comes from monsters

Meh, I'll wait for the limited edition 822.

Impressive, since they've been making the same overpriced bike for over 10 years.
Fully agree.. everything they're making is getting a bump up. They need something smaller to gain the customers who insurance would hammer for anything over 600 cc. (i.e. the 20 something crowd)
Overpriced you say? Do tell. What is it that's made to compete directly with it and performs as good or better than a monster that is cheaper? New 696 at the show was 10k from gp. I wouldn't exactly call that unreasonable
Agreed. I saw a guy fumbling his way out of gp on a 696 monster the other day. One of those so obvious he was new and needed at least a lesson or two it made you shudder. Know what I mean. 100 hp is not a good beginner bike for most people. That's what I was referring to before. Ducati needs to come out with something that's really an entry bike. They have nothing in that segment of the market.
I'm not sure what the power is out of one to be honest. I just know it's not something I'd recommend to most new riders to start out with. :dontknow:
Please tell me that's not the horn situated directly behind the rear wheel

REAR wheel?, you mean FRONT?!?![]()
While I agree that the 696 is not a good beginner bike (especially with the original sprocket set which makes the lower gears very punchy), I don't think it puts out near 100 hp. I think it's closer to 80 hp.
The era of the 2-valve, air-cooled Monster is finished. What started as a simple bike with loads of raw attitude has turned into a bland, bloated mess.
