Draining radiator in winter

If I use water in my cooling system, am I OK to simply drain it completely in the winter for storage in an unheated garage?

What do the guys with track bikes and no heated garages do in the winter?

I really don't like the idea of having to fill it back up with coolant

Don't forget ... Put a piece of masking tape over the ignition switch with "NO COOLANT" written on it.
