downtown toronto area - looking for a shop to perform a general tuneup

Hi Everyone,

I've read a lot about Rosey Toes and I've seen a lot of people recommend this shop. I've also seen a lot of people with pretty serious complaints on Rosey Toes.

That being said, anyone know of any shops in the area that can perform a tuneup that's very trustworthy? I know this is all sort of personal experience and obviously there will always be some people with negative experiences even at the best and most expensive shops, but figured I'd ask since Rosey Toes is the only one I've really seen be recommended.

BTW I did phone Ted and he quoted me (like many others) $300 for a tuneup on my 2002 f4i.

Thanks!

I would check out Studio Cycle Group (Keele & Dundas). Brought my bike in there a few months ago for fork seals and valves, and was very happy with the price and work. Chatted with the mechanic for a while and he gave me a lot of confidence that he knows what he's doing.

Worth checking out Cycle Werx (Keele & Bloor). I only talked with one of the guys over the phone, but he seemed very friendly and helpful. They were a bit more expensive than Studio Cycle (and he was happy to admit they weren't the cheapest) so I haven't been there yet, but I wouldn't hesitate.

Also Town Moto (Ossington & Dundas). Again, haven't had work done but I went to one of their free workshops a few weeks back and they seem like really nice guys. Definitely a hipster shop.

What tune up work do you need to do?

If you want an oil change, and general inspection, you can try Riders Choice.

Thanks raydowe, I'll check them out.

I need all fluids checked/drained/replaced as well as any tuning that can be performed.

I've had good experiences with Cycle Werx. Rosey Toes has also helped me out in a pinch but I wouldn't necessarily say he's 'downtown' per se.

Town Moto's good peoples but I don't think they work on bikes.

I'm bringing it in to Cycle Werx. My friend told he brings his bike there as well.

Thanks everyone!

Actually, now that you mention that I'm not sure. I went to one of their tech nights and they seemed to have guys there who were fully capable, and I wouldn't have thought twice about it. Now thought, going to their website, it looks as if they only sell parts + apparel.
