Pretty sure lots of businesses got burnt down and busted in the other riots that took place, only heard of one shooting when the kid defended himself against the weirdo chasing him with a knife

A lot of people are still irrational about that.

No offense, but if you come at me with a knife and I have a gun in my hand, you know what comes next. No apologies. I know you understand this but apparently far too many people don't.

Jan. 6 was a tragic display. More a vicious riot than an insurrection IMO.

Seems a bit ironic to have a person travel to a city, participate in a riot, try to smash their way into a locked room, get shot by people frightened for their lives, and then the sue............ Only in the US could this happen.

I think the Capitol area police, and others, showed a lot of restraint during this whole thing. Many defenders, not just police, had guns and they could very well have escalated and fired back at the rioters, who seemed to be out of control and prepared to hurt people. Bit of a miracle that more people were not killed.
