Pro tip: stick the plug in the front pocket of your jeans. Crank the bike, if you feel a little tickle the plug is good.Stick your thumb in the caps and crank it over make sure it’s getting good spark![]()
My guess is at least 126000 kms.Change it. Corrosion on the threads and seat would bother me, looks like those plugs have been in there a long time!
In a modern fuel injected car, iridium plugs go 150k. The biggest easier is them sizing into heads from corrosion. 80k is good for a fi bike, never use them in a 2t bike.My guess is at least 126000 kms.
They're out of a 2012 Ford Fiesta... Car runs great, but I got to thinkin'... When was the last time the were plugs changed?
'Bought the car about 6-7 years ago for my youngest to drive back and forth to university.. It had 73000 km on it...
It's now just over 200000km.
'Kid got a new car when she graduated... We just kept this one and I drive it every day,
I hate it(too small) Lol, but it costs $400/yr. to insure and gets 6.3l/100km...
Installed the new plugs... I'll check 'em again in 125000km![]()
Turbo cars are harder on plugs. The DISI 2.3T in my old CX-7 would eat a NGK Iridium within 100k. The ones in our Odyssey with it's NA motor have a recommended change interval of 160k per Honda and owners say even at that mileage they often come out looking great. In a modern fuel injected car, iridium plugs go 150k. My 2t bikes all call for iridium as standard? Why not use them?In a modern fuel injected car, iridium plugs go 150k. The biggest easier is them sizing into heads from corrosion. 80k is good for a fi bike, never use them in a 2t bike.
Pulled the iridium plugs from my Echo at 197,000 KMS (or was it 297K???) . Looked fine and I would have reinstalled them but I had already purchased new ones.In a modern fuel injected car, iridium plugs go 150k. They’ll work ok FI 2ts ridden hard, but overall not as well as a regular plug if you’re riding trails or under the power band.
