Do you like riding in groups?

Personally, I don't. For me, motorcycling is about personal/individual freedom. Nothing beats the solitude of a rider on his machine, alone. It's a zen thing for me.

I keep a tight circle of riding friends (which is like no more than 4 including myself) and these are guys I've known for a while. I can trust them and their riding habits. On occasion I have gone on large group rides but there is always something that has gone wrong which has given me trust issues when riding with people I don't know.
Majority of the time I usually like to ride alone too. It's my preferred method of "meditation"

I love it.
Although I do enjoy riding myself, nothing beats a group of bikes going out for a ride.

alone is chill and there's always times for it. its therapeutic and puts you in a state of mind where you can totally forget everything else and just feel amazing. like a mini vacation every time you pull the bike out. other times more the merrier the ****** off sound of multiple rocket bikes gets the blood pumping. hogs have the same effect

I agree. I go out alone, particularly at night, but I love a day trip with my friends.

It's also sometimes a bit difficult to pass a large group of motorcycles.

Too much of anything can be boring. I have been basically 50/50 solo and group riding this year, I have been mixing it up to keep it from becoming routine, and it's working.

Two with Scala's is ideal for me with the understanding I can photo shoot and dawdle and kid or other rider can play hooligan ( aka Daught et al ).

I enjoy solo a lot and also ride at night ....mellowed out - no traffic and good tunes.
But longer trips I think a partner is a good thing.

3 is max

I'm into photography too.

Yeah its almost mandatory to go alone when shooting frequently ( golden hour etc ) but I do also enjoy the chit chat with the scalas....makes the time go by - kid wasn't sure but now really enjoys it.

I wish I had a close circle of motorcycle friends, unfortunately none of my pals ride.

I did some group rides last year when I first started riding. I think out of the 8 rides I did, there were only 2 that went smoothly without anyone wiping out. That kind of put me off group rides until I can find like minded riders that just like to take it easy out there.

They are tons of fun though, and nothing beats the sound of 5-6 bikes taking off.

Small groups of competent compatible riders are good........ and usually very hard to find. Compatibility can include start and stop time, speed on straights and especially corners, length of daily ride, stop frequency, length of meals etc. etc....... It's a complicated mix. I've been on group rides where people try to keep up and end up crashing, usually on a corner, which can be a real bummer, especially if the rider gets hurt. I now know to avoid group rides unless I know and trust the riders

I did a few group rides when I first got into the sport. I quickly learned that they're a recipe for disaster so now I always ride solo

I prefer riding solo most of the time. But sometimes would not mind small group riding up to 3 others.

Small groups or solo riding are both pretty fun.

The best way to keep riding interesting in the long run is to do a variety of types of riding and to get a feeling of progress.

But if I'd have to choose I'd say solo.

If I ride solo for long distances I start to feel like the character from Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance. I start thinking about deep topics like existentialism, truth, the perception of reality, differences in perspectives, materialism, war, empathy, time, optimal living etc. If I think long enough, I start to feel a bit crazy.. haha

I'm 50 50, It's nice to ride w/buddies but like to chill by myself some times.

Just to be clear, everyone has different taste buds and that's perfectly fine. If you like group rides, im not criticising you, I was only saying that group rides aren't >my< thing.

Always ride alone. Except when the odd guy tricks me into riding with him. I get my revenge by demonstrating how much faster I am.
