Hey all. It been ages I posted anywhere other than the romper room.

I didnt ride in 3 years. And I need to do my m2 test soon.
So I got a cheap bike, but its a Goldwing (78 GL1000)

The bike runs and is in great shape. The previous owner took good care of it and it showed.

But my question to all the experienced riders: Is a Goldwing a good bike to practice and to perform the m2 exit test in?

The biggest bike I rode was a 750 GSXR.

Your inputs will mean gold to me, thanks in advance.

really?

Don't sweat it.

The Goldwing, even though I have never ridden it, I would argue to be easier. I rode around in my gf's 250 for a bit a week before I did my M test and debated on taking it because on the 750 it's way too easy to speed (that and I have built up horrible habits with regards to speed).

I passed, however, and even got a ding for going too slow on the highway! I would imagine the goldwing is much easier to not speed in.

I heard from an instructor that he had two women on goldwings take his course and pass easily (and said they were smaller ladies too)

It's easier to pass a test on a 250 than a wing, but it is easily done on either bike. Just play around on it and make sure you are comfortable.

goldwings are no slow bikes....will still dust the 250

Believe it or not, Goldwings (older) are actually a fairly nimble bike. Just practice. That's the secret-practice...

M2 Exit is a street riding test. You don't have to do any crazy maneuvers, riding between pylons, etc, so as long as you practice riding on it, you should be ok.

Either bike is fine. Just be confident and comfortable with the bike you take the test on.

I know this thread is a bit old now but just wanted to add, even though I have a sportbike I also have a 78GL1000. Its a naked bike. To be honest, I love riding it and you can turn on a dime, it handles great too. Its so much fun to ride.
