Deals Gap Cabin recommendation needed

Hi,

I've been down to Deals Gap 5 times now, all with other riders and friends. I've been discussing it with the wife and we might take a trip down there this summer with another couple as families. There would be 4 adults and 4 kids aged 10,8 6 and 6. Myself and my friend will have our bikes, and possibly dirty bikes for kids. We are looking for a cabin that will fit us all, and be close to most of the areas down there. The wives and kids are planning a couple of trips into Piegon Forge so I would prefer to have something north of the Gap so they don't have to drive it to get somewhere. The other requirments are a hot tub, and to keep the price in the $125-$150/night range. The one cabin I have stayed at before, and which more or less fits all of these is this one http://www.twosisterschalet.com/default.htm Just looking to see if anyone else has some other options.

Thanks
Kevin

Why not rent a place right in Pigeon Forge? Might be a few bucks more, but worth it. You'll be close enough to ride all the prime riding roads. The wives will be forever greatful with so much to see and do, since they're already 'there', plus they'll be busy with the two six yr olds.
The 8 & 10yr old can spend the days just down the road sampling moonshine!!
Win, win.

I have been many times before as well but only in passing. This year 4 of us are going down and staying for 4 days in pigeon Forge. Its a 3 bedroom (sleeps 10) 2 QUEEN 2 TWIN and 1 KING bed plus 3 sofas cabin in the woods with 3 cable Tv's with Dvd Wireless internet, Pool table, Hot Tub. Everything you will need. Its only going to cost us $200.00 each. check out covemountain.com We will be down June 9-13 and I cant wait. I hope this helps.

Hi Kev...I got your text...but figured I'd chime in here so others can garner info.

Having been 20+ times (lost count after the yr 2000 LOL), I have tried just about every avenue, from motels to mansions, in TN and NC and GA.
The trip when you came with us, worked out fairly good for what we had. However, every day that the wife and kids went sightseeing etc, it was more than an hour long drive each way to see touristy things for her........ The house we stayed at was ideal for riders.....not so for cagers.

For the past few yrs, I have changed my M.O. when bringing the family. Pigeon Forge area has much nicer accomodations, although it is pricier.....but my wife spent over $500/week on fuel doing sightseeing from the house you stayed in, whereas in the Pigeon Forge area she used a half tank for the entire week......better for her and the kids to have short drive to see stuff, and us riders are forced to ride an hour extra to and from destinations, on those awful, terrible, hellish, crazy twisty roads....oh wait, that's what we came for isn't it? LOL.

If you call Backhome Rentals in the Pigeon Forge area, they have some really nice places.....I mean awesome places that even celebrities would love to stay at. These work out pretty cheap if you put 10 people in them....... If you are looking for more meager accomodations, we even found quaint little two bedroom cottage style houses that back onto pretty little creeks etc.
And in the area, is Dollywood, world's biggest water park , horseback riding, whitewater rafting, tubing, go karts, zip lining, hiking, underground cave tours, theatres, museums, shows, games, zoo, and so much more.

we stayed at the Fontana resort/village. 5 to 10 minutes to deals gap. They have an assortment of cabins or you can stay in the lodge. Probably one of the nicer places I've stayed in down there. If traveling up the blue ridge, little Switzerland resort is also a spectacular place to stay.
