I recently had a co worker refuse to help boost a car. He said he didn't want to risk melting his wires.

CAA privileges go with the policy holder. If conditions were right I’d have no problem with calling CAA and having them do the boost. Time is a factor if the wait is going to be hours.

I wonder if CAA ever got a call to boost a Tesla. You don’t need a P Eng to buy one

AFAIK they still have a 12v system and battery and the car won't run when it is dead. I have boosted an EV (not Tesla) for this very reason.
