Commuting today? 11/17

I'm finding the stuff they use on hockey visors pretty decent for anti-fog.

Today didnt feel that cold. But my visor is fogging like crazy so I am keeping the mouth vent open.

Any tips on having it not fog up?

On regular roads i just leave my visor open about a quarter inch at the bottom, it's a bit chilly but i like fresh air and keeps it from fogging. For highways it has to be closed though otherwise it's too cold, i'm gonna try that shaving cream idea someone posted before buying the anti fog sprays

I was looking at those for boarding. Great idea for riding too. Thanks.

They should be amazing for winter sports. A down sweater and a down vest layered under a good shell should keep me happy even on coldest days. There is barely any restriction on movement. Make sure if you buy a down sweater that it's 800 fill. It makes quite a difference.

rode today from Hurontario to Third Line on the QEW at 8am it was 0 degrees, only my hands were actually chilly. On the way back at 5 it was 3 degrees and not nearly as bad...

Its funny since I have been commuting for about a month now and yet to see a motorcycle except for today about an hour after it stop snowing.
Not sure what type but I got on in Milton and he was right there then he got off in Cambridge.

I skipped it today due to the risk of flurries. I have the gear for braving the cold, but I don't risk riding in conditions where ice could be an issue. I only commute 45 km each way, using the 410 and 401. Not exactly the safest route even in the best of conditions.

I was out today and rode in a very light flurry. Last ride for a while tomorrow so it's probably going for storage.

Rode in today and either shouldn't have, or should have taken a different route. My gear kept me warm, but there's a spot at one intersection which has been damp the last few days. I was wondering if maybe there was a small leak in an underground pipe, and meant to call the city to have them look into it. Sure enough, today I came to that intersection and there was water and slush all over. Full stop and crawled around the corner through the slush; I looked at the water control cap in the middle of the road and there was water bubbling out of it. On the outlet I must have touched the throttle or just from looking down I changed the dynamics of the bike and out goes the back end. (I know, I'm mixing my tenses) Down went the bike and I'm sliding on the ice. Luckily there were no cars really close and they came to a stop. Picked the bike up but it's still in gear on the ice and the back end is spinning around like crazy. Noob mistake; hit the kill switch first. Finally wrestle it to the opposite side and wave the cars through. It looks like the only damage is to the shift lever (John, come down and have a look if you have the time). Anyone know where I can get a shift lever for a 1983 CM250C? Rode it the rest of the way; took a little getting used to having to lift my foot rather than just flick my toe.

Oh damn, glad you are ok.

Yeah, I'm fine but my nice shiny yellow Scorpion jacket is dirty. I guess it'll buff right out :)

I did, fingers tingled but otherwise was fine. Didn't ride today but not cus of the cold.

Today was only a little chilly ride from Cambridge to Waterloo then I had to stand outside Future Shop and wait for a Playbook. I had a few comments about being crazy riding a motorcycle in November but I was the only one not cold for that full hour wait outside. :p

Ended up ordering the down shirt instead as it was still 800 fill but looks as if it moves better with those strech panels:)

Keith, when we go to Deal's Gap in May, we'll be the ones with the Playbooks! By then, I'll have written a pretty killer motorcycle app that we can use.

Today was a great day to ride to work!!!!
I didn't see any other bikes on the road though????

I passed one this morning on the commute but he turned off the next exit.
It was a nice day though compared to what I was expecting.

WOW. What a surprise.
Today. Friday Nov 25th sure was a fine day to ride to work.
Who would have thought?

Didn't even have to wear my leather pants today!!!!!!!!!!

Was still 15 out at 8 pm - got in 200k today and very enjoyable - was over dressed this aft - 17 degrees!!! So were most of the riders up at the Shed.

Just about got nicked coming home from Square One on the 403 was a bit over speed and the car that was annoying me a bit was a cop...took the corner on the green and stuck to my lane and kept looking over my shoulder to move right to make my turn home.....he stuck in the awkward spot then finally got behind me so I could move over.......not sure what he was thinking about but would have been ****** with a ticket this late in the season.
