Cockpit size of 600cc bikes

Guys With Bikes is running TMP on the following days:

May 18,19,20
June 22,23
Aug 3,4,5
Aug 31, Sept 1,2

All other track days listed on TMP's website are run by TMP. Some other private groups (i.e. Red Dawn Entertainment) have track days booked, but they are not on the list at TMP's website.

TMP's website appears to be down at the moment, I believe on the end of their tech sheet they had some rules.

I've never been on a TMP run trackday before. How is it? Also, how about Guys with bikes?

On a tmp track day,( not the safe and well organized racer 5 day ) you can wheelie all the way down the straight

Having just moved back to Toronto and only having run Calabogie, Mosport, ICAR and Shanny. This has me asking a couple questions - why would someone want to wheelie all the way down a straight and are those who do this not considered complete duchbgs? The more I read about the people that go here and what they do on the track the less and less I have a desire to go.

But, to address the 600 question - I'm 6'1 and 190 and find my '07 ZX6R very comfortable for my size and on the track. I find the newer R6's to be the most uncomfortable of the 600's. Rode an '09 GSXR in an enduro race and had no issues with it. Had a '07 CBR600RR and loved it on the track, street - not so much.

To be honest, when you are on the track they all feel good if they are set-up right, its really only on the street you have time to think about comfort IMHO.

I sat on the new cbr600 yesterday. First time I've sat on it. I couldn't believe how small it felt. It felt like i was sitting on a bike that was the same size as my old 250.

I've been to both GWB days and TMP days. Both were without problems. They have ambulance on site, crash truck, etc. Flags are a little confusing compared to Racer5 but I like that TMP waves the checkered flag when your session is done, makes you feel like you've won the track day

I don't have an issue going to either of their days.

The spectators stand behind a short barrier that runs the entire length of the front straight. The front straight is the longest straight on the track, and turn 1 is the fastest corner. It's a tight track so you're coming onto the front straight in 2nd gear...

So? It still comes across as a d bag move and sweet, you can do a wheelie, track days aren't stunt shows and could ruin everyone else's day because you scattered your bike all over the track. This is why I don't even want to do track days after racing. I'd rather be around people that are serious about what's going on, not showing off for thier moms while they do pop-a-wheelies.

Black flag for wheelies on a track?????
Who is this guy on the video Sunday strolling around the track? and why is he only going fast on the main straight? and why is he braking even before passing the wall? it's confusing me

i wasnt saying I wheelie down the entire straight, just that the people at a tmp day dont care.

I wheelied in the pit area once on a Racer5 day. Nobody said anything! But there was nobody there yet, i was the first to arrive well ahead of the others.

I'm ~6'3/4 and ride a 2005 R6. It's reasonably comfortable, but I'd much rather have a 1000. I haven't been on anything else for an extended period of time, but I picked it because most places I read that it was a good fit for taller riders.

The 2006+ R6 changes size completely, the seat gets higher, so you're bent over more. Some people like it, some don't. The GSXR has a really low seat, typically.

The bike fit will depend on whether you've got a large upper body or long legs - the GSXR's low seat will cramp long legs, but a long torso won't be nice on some of the shorter bikes. I know sitting on the Aprilia RSV4 wasn't a good fit for me (not a 600, but still).

I'm 6'2 and pretty much 50/50 proportion legs/torso.

I find the 848evo extremely comfortable so people have told me an R6 wouldn't be an issue.

Found this ad
