Are you really sold on the CBR600?? How come I can't talk you into a brand new super crazy discounted 2011 Yamaha R6? Insane deal on it, 12 months extra Yamaha Protection Plus, no payments for 7 months or rates as low as 3.49%, etc. etc. Pretty sure it doesn't have ABS.

How crazy discounted are we talking? OTD price?

Well I had a look today at the training bikes, they are pretty beaten up but they seem to run well. The bike will come with the signals that they had removed for the training course. Although when I factor in all the other costs it'll end up costing easily over 2000. Tax is nearly $200, then there's $100 for getting safety certification and another $200 to get a new rear tire (rear tire on the bike that's in the best condition is pretty worn) and then $175 to have it towed to me all adds up to nearly $700 in extra costs.. and that's not including unforeseen costs that could arise like brakes, clutch etc.. I may try and haggle the price down a bit.

I've already bought all my gear (boots, helmet, gloves, Jacket) and the motorcycle course at Sheridan. Also already gotten quotes for insurance. All that's left is for me to buy a bike.

Toysareforboys linked me to a new Honda 125 for about that same price, he may have mentioned that in this thread, just reading through now...

EDIT: looks like they upped the price since he sent me the link, it was like 1k off MSRP.
