road in VG shape, new pavement most of the loop
a stretch of broken material, maybe 20-30 km west of the North Cape
but it's not terrible

2 very brief construction works on the west side
both short and traffic light controlled
couple of minutes tops stoppage at each

scenery, hills, sweepers and a few twisty sections are still awesome
as good as riding gets in Eastern Canada, solid 9/10 route

was thinking it would make a fantastic temporary closed course race event
the Cape Breton TT

This report still in progress?
Like has been said photos or it didn't happen :ROFLMAO:
BTW which direction did you go around Cape Breton, some people say one is better then the other.. 🤷‍♂️

I went counter-clockwise, started from Sydney which is from the East
if you're blasting across from the west, it's a shorter trip to go clockwise
only difference I can think, is going the direction I did
it's easier to pull off to the lookouts - not making a left across traffic

some pics, as burns is giving me a hard time

lookout on the east side, nice day, but still foggy until the afternoon

post-ride tech inspection in the motel parking lot - New Glasgow, named after my hometown

kinda missing the ritual of chain maintenance after a day's ride - this one is shaft drive
but checked stuff over anyway, with a cold bevvie the locals call Vitamin O

That was talked about a few yrs ago and they could not get the insurance for it as to my understanding

not trying to be argumentative
but with proper promotion that would be nothing
a dead racer or two (and I think they waive liability?)
some drunken idiot spectators will do stupid ****
chump change compared to the $$ an event like that would bring in
5 mill rider should cover the event?

thoughts, people?

What’s that contraption stuck to the face of your bike? Is it to protect you from a collision with a moose?

Ya. Airflow right? I might get one for my Tenere.

And....i have been told that you don't need a license in Cape Breton and drinking and driving is fine.

Moose could step over the bike.

Bike wasn't fugly enough. Still needs some blue, green and violet parts on it, to get that full spectrum effect. ;)

Make it how you like it, and don't worry about my opinion.

yes, Givi AirFlow
ugly, but it works better than the OEM postage stamp

I was thinking of getting one of those for my KTM. Bought a cheap shield from Amazon for now. Stock windscreens are a stylized joke.

Cabot Trail. Cold, grey, changeable weather. Pix def legit, and that can of Olands - I didn't even know they were still around.

The givi airflow for the '09 Weestrom is too tall in the lowest setting,
when I also use U bolts through the mounting holes to add a GPS and a Camera mount.

The base is taller than the OEM screen, so I just left the base on until I can drill some new mounting holes.

I like to look over my screen, and not through it.

Is it high enough that you have to look thru it? I can't do that. Had to take a saw to shield on my old Wing.

If you have time ride the the gulf shore on the way back when you get to the mainland .
Lots to see and history to follow

Didn't you have a Caponord? If so why'd you switch?

Nice place to visit or stay on the west side is the Glenorra Distillery. Very nice single malt whiskey. Log cabin chalets are great but pricey.
