My 2010 ninja 250's odometer broke recently and I want to know the implications of selling it with a broken odometer.

Dont really have the time to get it replaced nor do i want to invest in the bike since i plan to sell it.

Any suggestions on how to handle?

You can sell a vehicle with broken everything. It is courtesy of the seller to make sure the vehicle has passed safety.

You should indicate that the sale is "as is", and point out that odometer.

It would almost certainly pass safety. I haven't seen anyone check to see if the odometer rolls over in a safety check ever.

+1 it will pass the safety 100%, be honest and notify the new buyer about the the odometer....very simple;-)

I would fix it and let it go unmentioned.

You're gonna have to take a hit on the price for that, not only for cost of replacement but also because it raises questions of when exactly it broke. 30 kilometers ago? Or 15,000 ago?

put yourself in the buyers shoes...would you buy a bike that you don't know how many km's are on it...when's the next service, and what is the next service...you will take a hit when you go to sell it...i would suggest getting it fixed...as for someone wanting it certified for sale, no clue if an odometer is required for safety...

No one gonna tell him to check if the cable is connected properly?

First questionn then - does speedo work? If yes ignore me - husband does and I'm cool with it!

My cable would start unscrewing itself if I went above 160 on my GS500
