Biker Splits Lanes Like An ****** With Predictable Results

I was lane splitting in California on a rental. Cars expect motorcycles to split, but the law is you cannot be more than 10mph while cars are standing. Overall, they are much more aware of bikes in California, because there are so many more bikes.
It is definitely getting more dangerous in Ontario because bikes are now rare.

Bikes are rare? Since when?

The reason Ontario is dangerous is because any dimwit can get a driver's license if he tries enough times and because police don't enforce any laws just play around with their radar all day. Signalling is gone, running the red lights is in, not stopping at stop signs - more and more fashionable, passing and changing lanes without looking, making turns from whichever lane into whichever lane you please, etc.

We, as riders, have bad rep, thanks largely to a moronic system that lets you write a 5 min test and proceed to jump on the motorcycle without having any prior experience whatsoever.

Under those circumstances, lane splitting is not the best idea. And no matter how skilled and aware everyone is, splitting will always result in accidents simply because of the proximity to other vehicles and a slim margin of error.

not to mention the riders came on here and beg for the M2 exit test route because god forbid they figure out how to ride and learn the rules of the road instead of memorizing when to make a right hand turn and when to shut their signal off

I wonder if that was Mighty Mike in the video, but I have to agree that lane splitting is very dangerous!
