Biker Splits Lanes Like An ****** With Predictable Results

Should be in the multimedia section but non the less, good post. I think this same rider had a whole bunch of lane splitting videos. I remember thinking to myself that it was just a matter of time. Im all for lane splitting where legal to do so but that's just ridiculous.

wow that guy was a tard lol. i agree lane splitting should be legal but not with moving traffic.... or with ridiculous speeds like that guy.

Bwahahaha! What an idiot! Get what you deserve...

It's like he was intentionally trying to see if he would die or not.

Did anyone actually noticed that he hit a pedestrian????

Nice catch.

I wish lane splitting was legal here for filtering and slow heavy traffic, been watching videos of some guy in the UK and when it's done right it really is safe and useful but wow that guy was ridiculously stupid.

I understand why they don't legalize it here though considering the number of times I've had drivers actively ignoring my existence.

Had another close call last Saturday on Yonge, was following traffic and this lady and her husband who were right besides me start moving into my lane, I honked multiple times, even yelled but ultimately had to hit the brakes to warn the guy behind me I needed to slow down or else she would have shoved me into the sidewalk. Worse still is she wasn't even signalling and both their windows were open so it's not like they couldn't have heard the horn.

BTW here is the full vid of that instead of a liveleak cut

Doesn't look like he actually hit a pedestrian, someone that photoshoped the guy in, crash is at about 1:23

You can share a lane with parked cars... That's kind of almost filtering? Probably not allowed if there's a bike lane between the parking and the rest of traffic, though (I'm presuming it's illegal for a motorcycle to occupy the bike lane, even temporarily).

Signaling is a lost art, it seems. Most of the time I only see people signal when they're about to cause an accident because there's not actually enough space for their car and they think the signal makes it ok and that everyone has to get out of their way.

I had a close call the other day, too, because I trusted a signal. Came to a red I needed to turn at. Stopped and watched an SUV coming. Had his right turn signal on and was slowing way down. So I presumed he was turning and made a right on red. Half way through my turn said SUV is now practically on top of me. Turned out they were lost and were just going slow changing their signals a bunch as they tried to follow their GPS and find the right turns. Could have been worse. Lesson learned.

there was a guy on the 401 yesterday morning around 8:30 flying through rush hour traffic on the shoulder. He must have been doing about a 160kph. Unreal...

Reminds me of my second week out on the road last year, was still getting used to riding and I was still a bit nervous since I had lowsided the bike two weeks prior. I was in a left turn lane on Queensway, there was only one left turn lane at my stop, the left turn green arrow comes on and I start my turn then hear a bunch of honking and as I'm finishing my turn the car that was supposed to be behind me is now passing me on the right, nearly on the sidewalk because I was turning a bit wide into the right and yelling expletives.

Hopefully if you had a Stebel Horn you would have been heard.. but I've had deaf driver not pay attention to that either. I'm sure they would have noticed a boot too the side of the car or a fist on the side window. I KNOW that works.

I'm guilt of lane splitting myself, you don't go mach 1 while lane splitting, that's just asking for trouble. Hope he wasn't too badly hurt. Sucks for sure.

I was tempted to do the fist to the window but I was worried it would cause me to wobble and lowside the bike. I'm on a Kawi 250 it's super light so even small gusts of wind push me around. :lmao: Also this is my second season so guess I'm not comfortable enough to be too aggressive yet.

Busted windshield, missing right mirror; I don't think it's that guys first rodeo.
