Hi,

I have no idea where to begin. I'm looking to buy a vfr800 from the owen sound area and do require transport from owen sound to either Markham or direct to Kingston.

Any ideas???

rent a truck via enterprise and rent a trailer via uhaul.
$105 for the truck + gas $$$ + $15 uhaul.. that's about the best deal you can go for.

Or go to uhaul, get your car a hitch and rent a uhaul trailer...

1. Rent a truck or trailer, strap it down in the bed;
2. Find a friend who has a truck and can help you go get it;
3. Hire a motocycle moving company.

No hitch on any of their pickups

Well Owen sound to markham is ~200km and to Kingston is ~400 km.... Me thinks you're gonna have to pay a fair amount to have it moved. I think inferno buster does some bike hauling as well as a few others.

Jeez, for 450 bucks I'll throw my trailer on the back of my SUV and deliver it to ya....I'm guessing that would be around the going rate for that delivery. Best bet is what was posted, rent a truck and do it yourself.

Edit...you could prolly put a hitch on your car and rent a trailer for a similar price. My hitch from uhaul was around 200 bucks... Plus gas and trailer rental........

Whats fuel, wear and tear on your car/truck/suv and your time of 10-12 hours worth to you? Dont forget you also have to get back home from kingston...

My 4 cylinder suv would be atleast 150$ worth of fuel alone...

Very true.
150km to Owen sound
400 km to Kingston
435 km home

Give or take 1k km for me. That's 3 tanks of gas @100/tank. Plus wear and tear, time etc. Thanks paul my price just went up to 650 lol. Realistically I wouldn't do it, jus putting some perspective to the matter. I drove to Kingston to get my track bike a few years ago, fine cause it was a great deal and I went myself. If you can't do it yourself, well, be prepared to pay a hefty fee for delivery.

Hi

I should be staying away from the afternoon after work beers and surfing kijiji.

All good as I have things figured out ishh. Btw inferno offers some excellent rates.

I'm more in for my time vs money as I rather not spend the day commuting. Now sober thoughts of getting an 06 vfr or a 14 vfr800. Hmmm

I thought about. Taking the back roads from owen sound to Kingston would be fun. Avoid the whole 400/401 100%.

Just debating....

What's surprising is the 06 vfr800 is $100/year cheaper than my 93 VFR750 or even what more surprising the 2014 VFR800 insurance quote for me was $890 for the year for full $500 deductible.

Yup. Get the vin and have it insured. Take the ownership in and pay for a temporary permit and ride the bad boy home. Getting a ride to Owen sound? Well that is another thing. Lol.

I'd just swap plates from my 93 VFR750 (legit way).

Not too sure what I could sell my 93 VFR750 for safety checked. 120k (yes) not mint looking, still runs like a charm. Givi storage Will have a new clutch with steel plates. Thinking around $1850 safety checked.

yeah, that's the way! I bought my first bike in Belleville, live in London...

Motorcycle safety course done Sunday, MTO when they opened on Monday, ride from a buddy who owed me a couple to Belleville... 8 hours later I'm home on my new bike. I didn't even get a temp permit... I got a real plate at the Belleville MTO.
