Big Guy New to Bikes? Please Help!!

I have a cousin in nyc (cop) at 6'8, slim, owning a gsxr 1000 and a bmw s1000. I'd get his perspective but we're not too close lol
Another distant relative at 6'8ish over 350lbs and rides a kawasaki ninja zx14r. From pics he seems to look perfectly fine on it.

I can get the extra rider padding, but the pillion as well?

I say go with the klr, you can sell it in a year or two for almost what you paid for it, or you can keep it when you get a more street oriented bike and have both as it will last a long time and take a real shitekicking. Besides, you may decide you like the DS thing, trees don't tend to cut you off in traffic and it jumps curbs a lot better than most street bikes. It is the tallest bike I have ridden with respect to seat height.
The bigger sport bikes will kill you on insurance and quite possibly with the power that you would have to get used to.
Go to cycleworld superstore on Sheppard Ave. E. and they should have a whole bunch of different kinds of used bikes you can sit on for fit etc.
Check with your insurer before you pull the trigger though as you may be in for a surprise as a new rider on some of the bigger bikes.
Good luck.

No point giving the OP links to bikes for sale in TO. What is a Class 5 Beginner's permit?

Good catch, it looks Like almost every province but ON. So much for cycle world, doh!
Given it could be out west or out east, even more so now a klr.
