Best place to buy boots?

I still haven't found anything I like for a reasonable price.. the sidi stuff seems to be my favorite, but anything water proof with a slider is way too expensive.. the Dainese at riders choice were super comfortable but the price tag for even the non water proof models gave me a minor stroke..

There has to be something comfortable, decent looking and waterproof for 200-250 bucks out there somewhere..

Check kijiji... there are so many ads for new boots:

Yea , I've been checking kijiji regularly but everything that comes up is a size 8 or 9 for some reason (must be common?) i'm an 11.5 or 46 :s

These seem to be the ones i'm leaning twoards http://www.canadasmotorcycle.ca/sidi-cobra-rain-boots.html but I just can't bring myself to spend 300 bucks..

Sidi is what I want to get next... probably the vertigo ones. :)

I bought mine at this place last month... the best price I have found so far - Suzuki Newmarket

And I just heard on the radio that GP is having a blow out starting tomorrow until the 21st (I think). Up to %60 discount... not sure what the deal on boots will be thou.

I like the vertigo's too, but too pricey for me.

I might have to check out Suzuki of newmarket.. I'm not overly impressed with the SMX-5, but that is a great price for them.. maybe they've got some other good deals.

My conversation with GP Bikes about 10 minutes ago:

Me: So I see on your website you have all Sidi boots at 35% off? (I can see it says it was over March 30th, but its still up on the site so I'm going to ask..)

Sales Rep: Uh, no we don't

Me: Well i'm on your website right now and there's a big banner that says All Sidi boots on sale for 35% off.. if it was over on March 30th then why is the banner still on your site on April 11th?

Sales Rep: Uh... Uh... well... Uh.. we have a new sale starting tomorrow for 20% off..

Me: 20% off, so not 35 like i'm looking at on your website as we speak?

Sale Rep: Uh.. no.

Second Call
---------------------------

Me: Hi I see you have the Dainese Stivali Pannier D-WP Boot on your website for 299 is that right?

Sales rep says yes, I ask if they have my size, he goes and looks, no they don't but they can order them.. doing ok so far...

Me: So you have these boots infront of you?

Sales Rep: Yes

Me: Can you tell me if the boot you are holding it the same boot in the picture on your website? (the picture on the website shows a really nice boot with good support and a metal toe slidder.. pretty good for Dainese at that price, when I look up that same model on other sites it's more of a touring boot with no armour)

Sales Rep: Uh well it has uh. a heel cup.. and it's leather and textile

Me: So it's not the boot on your site with the metal toe slidder

Sale Rep : Uh umm no it can't be...

I don't think I'm going to make the drive to whitby for service like that...

If they have them. I waited 3 and a half months for my SIDI's to come in, and guess what, they ordered the wrong size. I got my money back and ordered them online. They were shipped in 2 days and I got them within the week.

AND if you read my post above.. their service was less then useless.. they don't know their own product, and they apparently don't even know about this sale that starts tomorrow..

cut the sales guy some slack. He doesnt run or operate the website. So some programmer put up the wrong picture. You cant blame the sales guy for that.

Clearly you have done your research, and you knew odds are the picture was wrong. The sales guy picked up the right boot. In my mind he has done his job.

You know what you want in a boot. Make a list and ask for prices based on the name. Not some picture.

I don't blame the sales rep personally.. my point is just that MY EXPERIENCE of the service from the company as a whole has been less then positive. Others may have had diffrent experiences.
