Best local price on Honda gen?

Not that it's a fancy honda or yamaha but the Canadian tire in Whitby just east of Brock on Taunton has a champion inverter 2000w for $499. It's the only one and my wife denied me the purchase or I would have picked it up to have 2 of them.

Now you guys got me on the fence between the honda and the Yamaha. The sales person I deal with at st onge was busy with another customer today so I couldn't get a price just retail. I will call them back tomorrow to see if he can give me a good price like he did with my motorcycle on the Yamaha 2000. I don't mind spending more money I just want the best deal possible, a $100-200 savings is worth shopping around.

So other then st onge I'd appreciate any suggestions for cheap prices on Yamaha gens also. Have to decide before 5pm tomorrow as that is when I would have to meet the seller if I decide to buy the honda at $1170

I don't mind stickers I was going to spray bomb it anyways to hide the fact I'm buying a honda.

Ps u mentioned st onge, that's where I bought my last motorcycle and got the best price I could find over the phone. The salesman didn't even have pricing because it was for a 13 in dec of 2012, he calls me back within 5 min and beat every dealer I had already called or went to in person. Great dealer out there! I will buy from them again in heart beat
Not surprising. St. Onge is a great bunch of people. I got my Yamaha genny from them at a great price.

Honda invented and has been making generators before most people on this forum were born.

They invented the inverter generator and other technologies.

If you can afford it, Go with the best. Everyone else is just a copy cat.

Ok heres a question is there any significant difference between a US or Canadian model EU200I? Best price so far for NIB is $1170 cash but its a US model

The US model has a parallel port connector so you can add a second eu2000 generator to double your output. I won't bore you with the technical details, but suffice to say canada (CSA standard) won't allow it on this model.

If I can afford it ? The Honda can be had much cheaper then the Yamaha but after seeing some reviews the honda might need a remodelling job now that the Yamaha is out.

$1412.50 for a Yamaha 2000 OTD....$50 off retail + tax no fees....Its $240 more then I can get the Honda for, but its from a dealer not a private sale like the Honda was. So I think Im going with that, unless someone can beat that price...

I noticed some Polaris gennys at the local dealer the other day. Quite the price difference, and they said they have received great feedback on them. Roll the dice?

Go for the Ducati inverter. Sure you have to adjust the valves every 12 hours and it has a bit of a lean surge on economy mode, but the billet handle on the ripcord is pure eye candy and it has dual spark plugs. Only $5999 and the salesperson will bring you a cappuccino while you call your banker.

$899 USD, of course you'd either have to be going to the US or grab it at the border. That or see who they are shipping across the border with
Wow, sweet :) If you get it shipped to http://freightboy.ca you can go pick it up in Niagara Falls, NY for $5 or they can even bring it to St. Catharines if you're not allowed to go to the USA and they can even just re-ship it to ya too! Love those guys :)

Thats why I put local in the title, Id drive to Barrie or London but not over the boarder. $899 + $109 shipping in US dollars leaves no room for savings as normally big online sites like that always mark the import documents with the correct amount, so add on import fees and tax and Im back at what I could one here for. Same difference if you account for me driving to the US boarder as I drive a V8 that would probably eat $100 in gas each way
