Are Cafe -style bikes targets for theft?

Hey all, recently moved to TO and getting ready to get my '77 CB750 brat/cafe style on the road in town. There's obviously a wealth of info on these forums about best practices to try to keep your bike as safe as it can be, I was just wondering if the thieves in this town tend to be discerning or not.

From what I gather newer sport bikes are generally the ones they're after, but with cafe gaining lots of popularity I was wondering if it'll make my bike more of a mark?

Just to be clear I know there's not a yes/no list of bikes ppl steal, just wondering if anyone noticed a trend of more vintage-type bikes being targeted?

People will steal anything that's easy to steal. My Ninja 500 was stolen last summer. How much is a Ninja 500 worth?

Generally speaking, most cafe/brats are arguably worth the same as a nice condition, fully functional stock bike. Someone will still steal it and ride it around for a few weeks.

Bigger, heavier bikes are stolen less, as far as I can tell. Other than that there doesn't seem to be any preference.

Wow people actually ride them? I just assumed they got chopped up or sent overseas or something... I feel like a custom cafe would be very ballsy to continue to ride in the city... I know if mine got stolen and I saw someone driving it I'd try my first and last dropkick on a moving motorcycle!
