(SPRINGWATER TOWNSHIP, ON) - Members of the Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a serious single motorcycle collision in Phelpston, Springwater Township.
On June 5, 2023, shortly after 5:30 a.m., Huronia West OPP and emergency services were called to a single vehicle collision on County Road 27, where a motorcycle left the roadway and struck a sign in the ditch, which is believed to have occurred sometime around 1:00 a.m. The lone rider, a 17-year-old male from Barrie, was taken to local hospital and later transported by Ornge to a Toronto-area hospital with serious injuries.
OPP Technical Collision Investigators and Reconstructionists are on scene assisting with the investigation. County Road 27, which was closed between Flos Road 4 and Flos Road 3 for the investigation, is reopening shortly.
Anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage and has not yet spoken with police is asked to call Huronia West OPP at 1-888-310-1122.

He has a broken pelvis, femur and punctured lung. In an induced coma now. Possibly more injuries but we are waiting to hear.
