Anyone riding today?!

I just saw a neighbour outside warming up his yellow GSXR1000.

Nice enough day for me to take a walk, nevermind riding.
 
I'd ride but my bike is in pieces. Sigh. Valve clearance adjustment and cleaning the carbs. Sigh. It has been a surprisingly pretty warm this winter. If I had known there would be so many warm days I wouldn't have broken down my bike to this extent.

Riding? You kidding? The only thing I am riding today is my nice warm and comfy sofa, while eating pretzels, drinking beer and watching tv. :D

Riding season is coming soon anyways so why rush it?
 
I don't know where some of you guys are finding snow. This is GTA motorcycle group, right? I put my bike into storage back on January 1 because there was some cold weather in the forecase and I figured I was done for the season. What a mistake. We've hardly had a winter at all this year. I went up to my storage place today and picked up my bike and rode it home. It was a little cool, but I rode in worse weather in December and the forecast is for more mild weather to come. I consider today to be the start of spring for me, with lots more riding to come.
 
I was a little late getting out, but I manage to get in two hrs worth of riding. Yea, my fingers were frozen, needed a shower to warm up. But I got in two hrs of riding.

Bought my first bike in Sept., rode it up till Dec. had it out again in Jan. went to the bike show at the International Centre and have had it out twice this month. Having a great time.
 
I made it out for a 2km ride LOL. I am in the middle of moving and rode it from garage to garage.

I went out for an hour today. Those of you saying your fingers were frozen, what type of gloves do you wear? I bought some winter style wind/waterproof icon gloves from GP for $75 and my hands are nice and toasty when im out even when it was -2 the other day.
 
I strapped my snowboard bag to my back and rode up to Mt St Louis Moonstone to hit the slopes! No, not really. I went by car. But I've considered it lol. I need to put the liability back on my bike insurance.
 
I got out for a rip yesterday. Heated handgrips solve the numb fingers btw. I put them on in Dec and they've been a life saver since then.

Just a quick note for those of you pulling your bikes out for 'pre-season' rides.....Remember that the tires and pavement will NOT warm up. I was about 1 km from home when I got too excited and ham-fisted the throttle in a left turn and broke the rear wheel out. It wasn't a big deal and easily brought back under control, but just don't let the excitement of it all get the better of you!!
